The difference between LSAW steel pipe and HFW steel pipe

Feb 23, 2024
1. Definition of LSAW pipe and HFW pipe
LSAW pipe is a kind of steel pipe product manufactured by cutting the steel strip into the required length, then rolled into a pipe shape, and then butt-welded. It is a commonly used construction material, widely used in construction, bridges, roads, pipelines and other fields.
High-frequency welded pipe refers to the steel pipe products made by high-frequency induction heating, so that the surface of the steel strip reaches a molten state, and then extruded and welded. It is an efficient and high quality steel pipe production method, which is widely used in construction, machinery manufacturing, automobile manufacturing and other fields.

2. The relationship between LSAW pipe and HF welded pipe
Straight seam welded pipe can be high frequency welded pipe, but not necessarily. Because high-frequency welded pipe is welded by high-frequency induction heating after the surface of the steel strip reaches a molten state, while the straight seam welded pipe is only manufactured by butt welding, without going through the process of high-frequency induction heating. Therefore, there can be other ways of welding in straight seam welded pipe, such as arc welding, gas shielded welding and so on.
