What is a heating pipe

Concept of heating pipeline: Any pipeline that transports steam or hot water is called a heating pipeline.
Function of heating pipeline: The heat energy produced by the boiler is transported to indoor heating equipment through heat media such as steam and hot water to meet the needs of production and life.
1. Classification of heating pipes
According to the different media flowing in the pipes, they can be divided into steam and hot water pipes.
According to their working pressures, they can be divided into three types: low-pressure, medium-pressure and high-pressure pipes.
According to their laying locations, they can be divided into indoor and outdoor heating pipes.

2. Characteristics of heating pipes
The most prominent feature of hot water and steam pipes is the thermal expansion and contraction of the pipes caused by temperature changes. The temperature of the pipes is room temperature during installation. During the initial operation (transporting heat medium), the pipes will stretch sharply due to the sudden increase in temperature. When the operation stops, the pipes will gradually shrink back as the temperature drops. When the pipes expand and contract, they will produce a large push (pull) stress on the fixed points at both ends, causing the pipes to deform or even damage the brackets. Therefore, measures should be taken (compensators) when installing heating pipes to eliminate the push and pull stresses caused by temperature changes. For steam pipes, in addition to thermal expansion and contraction, there is another feature: condensed water will be produced during the transportation of steam due to heat dissipation and other reasons. Condensate in the steam pipe is extremely detrimental to the normal operation of the system. It not only deteriorates the quality of steam, but also hinders the normal circulation of steam, causing water hammer and noise, etc. Therefore, measures should be taken when installing steam pipes (devices for draining and removing condensate) to discharge the condensate in time.
